Little Riddle Jig Company was started by John Blake Riddle when he moved to Smithville, MS in 2020. John Blake set up his tying station in the tree house (aka The Slab Shack) in his backyard and set out to tie hand poured, hand tied, hand jerked bucktail jigs fit for all fishermen to use, from world champion pros to the first timer.

John Blake Riddle was born and raised in Amory, Mississippi. Some say he was born with a fishing pole in one hand and a shotgun in the other. After John Blake finished college, he left his “real job” in Memphis and moved into a tent for six months, bouncing between the great Mississippi lakes of Grenada, Enid, Sardis, and Arkabutla. During his travels, John Blake learned from many a local about the best colors for each crappie jig to be used in each lake, whether spider rigging or wade fishing, in clear water or in muddy water. These colors are the inspiration for all of the Little Riddle jigs today.

John Blake has been spending most of his time recently learning to fish with his new livescope, developing new jig prototypes specifically for this style of fishing.
